Tiny Seed Faith

This week’s Sermon 4 Kids teaches us to ask for mustard seed sized- faith – so we can believe in God and see Him do great things.

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” The Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:5-6 (NIV)

My kids did 2 activities:

1) Blowing Seeds: Using a straw, each child has to blow a green bean across the table.  After blowing a seed across the finish line at one end of the table, he or she goes back to the starting line at the opposite end to blow another seed. Whoever gets to blow the most number of green beans across the finish line using the straw at the end of 2 minutes is the winner.  They enjoyed this game so much they did 3 rounds (wanted to do more but I suggested we move on to reading the sermon)!

2) Seeds of Faith poster:  I printed out 2 copies of an A4 sized poster with the big word FAITH and the Bible passage for this week.  The kids glued green beans to fill in the letters F, A, I, T, H.  My daughter even thought to box the Bible passage with green beans (nice effect!).

Again, Sermons 4 Kids has given us a simple, fun and inspiring way to grow our seeds of faith 🙂
