Thank You Tree

This week’s sermon from Sermons 4 Kids is entitled The Thankful Leper.

Scripture: Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” Luke 17:17 (NIV)

This week’s lesson is from the one and only leper who went back to Jesus to give thanks for being healed.  It is about remembering to give thanks to God for the many blessings, big and small, that we receive from Him.

For a game, I asked my kids to form the letters T, H, A, N, K, Y, O and U with their bodies.

Then, they each made a Thank You Tree.  I gave them a print out of a tree with many branches and leaves.  On the branches and leaves, they wrote down things they were thankful to God for.

There are hundreds, even thousands of things to be thankful for.  If we nurture an attitude of gratefulness, our Thank You Trees can keep growing, sprouting more branches and leaves to make room for the blessings we continue to receive every day.
