Postcard #7: Charming Carmel-by-the-Sea and Fisherman’s Wharf Monterey

Dear Matty,

Today, we took a scenic drive south from San Jose to Monterey and Carmel (still in California).

This was our first time to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea, and it was lovely! We went to the beach, and although it was cold, we enjoyed the relaxed family atmosphere. Not sure if you would have liked the cold, but you would have seen many other dogs there!

The village was so quaint and charming! It’s a quiet, beautiful European-styled village right by the beach filled with shops, restaurants and art galleries. Great place for relaxing or romantic strolls.

In the evening, we went to Cafe Fina in Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey for dinner. Also our first time in the wharf. Really cold, but also beautifully quaint. Not crowded this time of year too. Nice place for a cozy family dinner (yummy clam chowder soup too!).

Can’t wait to see more of Monterey!

Love, Mommy
